SERAPHIC FEATHER |

|
The Series is called Seraphic Feather, and it takes place about 20 or so years in the future.
Much like Evangelion it deals with what is acceptable as a human, or what passes as a god. Its all about searching for
what is right and what is wrong, the meaning of life.
Why Should You Read This? This is one of my first mangas that I got into, it has a complex story line much
like Gundam Wing or Gundam Seed. If you like tech and mech and futuristic qualities in a manga, this is the book for
you. I think Eva fans will really enjoy it. The artwork is a little lucid at times, giving a little more leeway
to curves and legs, but overall you get a solid body.
OH MY GODDESS! |

|
Oh My Goddess! Is a classic love story between a High Class Angel and...A human! The storyline and meaning
is very simple, its like a neverending tale: Love Prevails Over All. They do this in every book.
Why Should You Read This? If you are into fast cars and motorcycles with hot babes and love stories, this is the
one for you. However the meaning to the storyline (ha) is a little repetitive. The Art starts out as an '80's
Manga Style' but ends up around the 19/20th volume becomes very intergrated in common manga types. It's very lovey
dovey but really good to get into. The artwork is pretty original but tends to remind me of Hyper Police.
SUKI |

|
Suki, is a...how shall I put this? It's a forbidden love between a teacher and a student, one who is over 30 and
one who is just about 19. She lives alone, and because her father is super rich, she gets kidnapped not by the mysterious
teacher but by her best friend.
Why Should You Read This? This one is a little weird, and perhaps a little too weird. But Clamp usually does
a good job about this kind of stuff. They like to stay in their own little world when it comes to love. Love between
two people can bring any two together. The ending kind of sucks, but then again, it was not that good to begin with,
so why is the book here. Because I get a warm feeling inside when I think of the people I should be with.
CLAMP DISCLOSURE: Yes this about the aurthors, aka CLAMP. They have done a lot of mangas and graphic novels
but here is the catch, and I'm not trying to be sexist. The group consists of five females, most or all of them lesbians.
Now I don't say this to be mean, however in the ending to a lot of the books, the love either turns to friendship and the
end to chobits? Jesus. Review of why you should read this for Chobits coming soon.

This is hyper police, taking place in the 22nd Holy Century, and humans are all but extinct, yes we have become on the
endangered species list. There are half-dogs, cats, leopards, and a lot of monsters fighting for the protection of humans.
Natsuki is a half-cat character who is a bounty hunter, who then pairs up with a 8 1/5th fox (supposed to be a nine tails)
who tries to eat her! Natsuki is unaware at first but they begin to get along.
Why Should You Read This? This storyline is totally original, it almost reminds me of Tenchi, but I couldn't tell
you why. Although it is a little weird, the animation and pen techinique is really good, the characters are likeable
and full of mischief.
Love Hina by Ken Akamatsu: This is a love story between a two Tokyo University students, both made a promise to a person
fifteen years (or so) to go to Tokyo U together. Is Naru Narusegawa, and Keitar Urashima, destined to be together?
Why Should You Read This? This is a very lovey dovey, perverted and funny book, this just makes me want to come back
for more of the funny antics of Su, Shinobu, Kitsune, and Aunt Haruka. The art is excellent and the story line is fluent
and very well thought out.

In this hilarious Romantic/Comedy Tahru has lost her father when she was three, and her mother a few months ago.
She was living with her grandfather when he had to renovate the house. So instead of living in a hotel for a few months
she decides to live on her own, in a tent in a nearby forest just until the renovation is completed. Unbeknowest to
her, this was actually property of the Sohma family. Sohma Yuki is a classmate of Tahru when he discovers where she
is living and offers up their house in exhcange for her cleaning the house. She agrees and is taken inside. Then
something strange happens. During a fight between Yuki and his cousin, Tahru accidentally hugs Yuki's cousin and he
turns into a CAT! Turns out they are all human representations of the animals found in the Chinese Zodiac. Everytime
you get hugged by someone of the opposite sex, you turn into your Zodiac form.
Why Should You Read This? It's extremely original the art is very good, it does have somewhat of a manwha-esque
look to it, which isn't so bad, the girls are pretty the boys are pretty, it's all good. No hint of a plot just yet,
since I've only read the first book, but it's definetly a picker upper.

Vampire Hunter D Volume 1 by Hideyuki Kikuchi: Although this is just a regular novel this is the book that inspired the movie
Vampire Hunter D. D is now in the service of Doris Lang (17) and her brother Dan Lang (8). Their father was a wolverine
hunter, and was killed long ago. His daughter, Doris Lang, has been working on the farm for years but has just been bitten
by a strong vampire named Count Magnus Lee. D is supposed to kill him to keep her human.
Why Should You Read This? If you want a real grip on the movie best scenes that are taken out are always in the book.
This is really good, and it is only the first volume!

Chobits by CLAMP: This one is about a girl who can't remember her past and is a robot. This is about robot's with feelings.
Somepeople say they do, other don't. Chi has to find out for herself.
Why Should You Read This? Although the art is good and the story solid the problem is not with either. It's with the
ending and I won't give it away, but it's obviously from a womans point of view. Either way it is a good book to read.

This is an interesting four book series. This is from the creators of Excel Saga, about three middle school
girls who have to take on the reality that Aliens are coming from outer space not to invade, but fuse into one with the humans.
This is a very good series, the plot is solid and the character profiles are awesome.
Why Should You Read This?: All
though this book can become...disturbing every once and awhile, the plot is solid, and it has you guessing to the very end.
I take that back, it's innocent in the beginning, but by the end of the first book, things really start to get disturbing.
This is for the older teens out there (16+).

Ray began her life on a body farm and was bred for nothing more than her valuable organs. Life was difficult
for the young girl, so whatever memories she retains of her childhood stay locked in the dark recesses of her mind.
Now, working as a nurse and performing medical procedures on the sly, her only reminder of so distant a life
lies within her eyes. Given as a gift, her baby blues have the power to penetrate anything and everything - this girl has
X-Ray vision! But after years of repression, a chance encounter with an old friend will force Ray to revisit the past, and
to wage war against the farm where her life began.
Why Should You Read This?: All I can say is this girl is Kick-Ass, purity 100%. This teaches a
lesson here, a life is that and that's all there is to it. Whether villain or hero, life is to be preserved. The
art and plot are both very solid. I totally reccomend this!

Taking place in a normal Tokyo High School, Yukino Miyazawa thought she was happy with the life she had,
good grades, and good friends. However she was faking her true self to get accepted by people. Not before she
meets Arima Sorichiro, he is the same as her, and after a certain unexpected meeting the two decide to ditch their fake selves
and move on in High School. Eventually the two fall in love, however, Arima has a secret past, a darker side.
I found that the plot really started to get thick after the fourteenth volume.
Why Should You Read This?: This book, is just amazing, the artwork is light, and comical, and the
story keeps you hooked from page one. The author and artist are intertwined with themselves to create a wonderful story.
And it's not just Miyazawa and Soichiro! It includes about 12 other people and their lives too! It's a good slice
of life deal with your life kind of book, and it makes me very happy!

This story is about a boy, Ichigo, who just seems normal, only one problem, he can see ghosts!
Spirits, don't haunt them, but sometimes he can't tell the difference between humans and ghosts. Until one day he meets
a woman, Rukia, who is a full-time Soul Reaper. Basically sending ghosts the "society" (it's basically heaven), and
casts hollows away! Well, one day she needs his help to kill one, and instead of just giving him some of her power,
he ends up with all of it! Now Rukia has to wait for her power to grow back, while Ichigo is the new Soul Reaper!
Why Should You Read This?: First off the artistry is excellent, and the story is fluid and put together
very well. That's all I got, it's just a good manga. I recommend it to anyone who likes ghost stories!
BEHOLD! This manga is excellent. One of the greatest big robot anime/mangas I've seen in a long time.
Although there are only 8 in the original manga so far (to my knowledge) the anime series continues past a certain terrorist
act. It's about a girl named Kaname Chidori, who has a special gift, and that is what enemies, mostly russian, arabian
and chinese, want. When a special dude named Souske Sagura is assigned to guard her with his life. It's with the
meeting of this military obsessor that they begin to see eye to eye and fall in love.
Why Should You Read This? Other than the fact that it's the best robot anime/manga since Evangelion (in my opinion),
this has humor and mischeif written all over it. This is your basic girl-falls-for-guy-with-large-robot. Just
trust me on this one!
More to come on the Ronin, later this afternoon prefebly.

More to come to Sin City's: The Big Fat Kill (one of my favorites!)
